Ok this one is quite a difficult one. You could use trial and error.
Here are some equations to look at: see if you can understand these
sp + hr = 18
hr + m = 21
sp + m = 23
This is from the information you have been given. You could list all the numbers that equal 18.
eg. 1 + 17; 2 + 16; 3 + 15 etc and then do the same for the others and see if this help you solve the problem. Always remember to check if your answer is correct.

Ok if you want to try using equations here is help with the first step.
how are you going to solve sp + hr = 18?
sp = 18 - hr.
How are you going to solve the second equation which is hr + m = 21.
That is all for tonight guys. Will give you more clues tomorrow. See you tomorrow. Bye

Friday's problem solving

Write down exactly what key pieces of information you actually have?
What is the problem asking you to find out?
What are the important ideas in this problem? What strategies might you be able to use?
Do you think it is useful to make a table? If so, how?

What do you understand from the statement "All my three children are celebrating their birthday today?"

Do you think the last hint is very important? In what way?

How many possible answers are there that satisfy the first two hints?

Good luck and enjoy!!

Problem of the week.

My son is naughty

Jack and Ray were at the rugby. Ray's team was winning so jack decided to give Ray a problem to deflate his ego a bit. So Jack siad "Di you know that today is my three sons' birthday?" How old are they?" Ray asked taking the bite. "I'll give you a hint. The product of their ages is 36 and the sum of their ages is 13," Jack replied. "That's no help," said Ray. So Jack weakened and gave him another clue. "O.K. My youngest son is very naughty." "Nothing to it," exclaimed Ray and he told Jack the correct ages of his sons.

How did Ray figure out the correct answer and what are Jack's sons' ages?

Hi to you all
Ok test on Friday. Hope you put in the extra effort in this test and remember you always want to give your very best try at it. What is the test on? On everything but mostly the work we have just finished. Can you tell me what the difference is between a rhombus and a parrallogram? Can you identify all the different transformations? Oh by the way can you also remember how to add and subtract a fraction? Hope so as that will also be in the test and oh what about 4 squared? What is cube root of 27? Have a wonderful afternoon and remember to complete all your homework.
